MY STORY
Love for languages
I have been teaching for most of my adult life. As a young exchange student in the US, back in my native Italy, Australia, and now the UK. I have a BA in Italian Studies, and an MSc in Scientific, Medical, and Technical translation. Another MCs in Environmental Sciences and a PhD in Italian Studies. I also have a PGCE and I am a fully qualified teacher.
You, my students, are like planets, each with their own individuality, needs, and aspirations. I seek to find out the best in each and for each. I have an individual approach.
I use a completely novel methodology. I combine inductive and deductive grammar within a communicative structure. My results speak for themselves. In most cases, you will go from not being able to speak at all, to being able to grasp the basics of Italian. You will be able to clearly see and measure your progress in each lesson and each level we gradually reach. I will not use manuals with units but a story that will guide and inform your lexicon and grammar. Both will be tailored to your level and ability. It is a bit like playing with Lego blocks. I will give you the block and you will be the builder. This way, the language becomes yours. You are in control of what and how you want to express yourself. It is fun but above all effective.
As for my curriculum, I have worked in several secondary schools around the world and also at University College London, University of Sydney, University Technology Sydney, University of New South Wales and other institutions. Please see the page with some of my current and past students if you'd like to know more or get in touch.

You will be using 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 words as we progress. These will not be random words but selected from a list of the most used Italian words today.
WORK MADE SIMPLE
You will be able to clearly check your progress from lesson to lesson and then level to level.
